Columbus, GA (October 9, 2018) – The North Boys & Girls Club of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Chattahoochee Valley (BGCCV) was recently selected by the local Lowe’s retailer for their Lowe’s Hero Project. Lowe’s Heroes is a companywide program giving their employees the opportunity to support local community improvement projects. Annually, an organization is chosen to dedicate volunteer hours in order to give back to the local community.
With $2,500, The North Columbus Boys & Girls Club’s kitchen received a renovation for improved functionality for staff and Club members. The hard work of the local Lowe’s Heroes resulted in a completed project of new kitchen appliances, tiling, paint, windows, butcher mobile carts, and repaired sink. Most importantly, it provided the club with a cleaner, healthier and more efficient work space for the meal program which serves 200 Club members daily.
Since 2009, Boys & Girls Clubs of America has proudly partnered with the Lowe’s Companies, Inc. to provide grants to local Boys & Girls Clubs across the country for improvements and refurbishments. These projects have included upgraded kitchens, working bathroom facilities, enhanced lighting and new spaces for kids and teens.
This October, Lowe's and Boys & Girls Clubs of the Chattahoochee Valley are teaming up to present "Building Great Futures Together," the in-store fundraising campaign for Boys & Girls Clubs. The campaign runs Oct.1–31 with 50% of all donations will be contributed to local Clubs in the Chattahoochee Valley area. Visit our local Lowe’s located at 6750 Veterans Pkwy, Columbus, GA 31909 to support BGCCV.
